Out-of-State Neuropsychological & Psychological Services Across New England (and Beyond)

Through PSYPACT (the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact), Boston Metro Neuropsychology can provide in-person testing and telehealth services to clients, attorneys, insurers, and employers throughout New England and beyond, without the delays or expense of coordinating a local provider in every state.

In-Person Testing & IMEs Outside Massachusetts — Dr. Rebecca Wershba

Dr. Wershba holds an Interjurisdictional Practice Certificate (IPC) under PSYPACT, which authorizes her to travel and conduct face-to-face neuropsychological and psychological testing, including Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs), in other PSYPACT-participating states. That means attorneys, insurers, and organizations outside Massachusetts can retain an experienced forensic neuropsychologist for an in-person IME without needing to locate and vet a new local provider for every out-of-state case.

Testing is primarily conducted out of our offices in Westborough, MA, but Dr. Wershba can travel to approved locations in other PSYPACT states including New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, and Maine when a case calls for it.

This is especially useful for:

  • Workers' compensation and disability IMEs

  • Personal injury and litigation-related forensic evaluations

  • Fitness for Duty / Return to Work evaluations

  • Capacity and competency evaluations (financial, testamentary, guardianship)

Telehealth Testing Out of State — Dr. Alan Jacobson

Dr. Jacobson holds an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) under PSYPACT, allowing him to provide telehealth psychological services to clients located in most PSYPACT-participating states. For out-of-state clients, attorneys, and referral sources, this means access to psychological evaluation and testing components, consultation, and follow-up care remotely, coordinated with the same clinical rigor as our in-office work.

This telehealth option is a good fit for:

  • Fitness for Duty/Fitness for Work evaluations out of state, or when the client is not mobile

  • Follow-up sessions, record review discussions, and feedback appointments for existing out-of-state cases

Out-of-State IMEs for Attorneys, Insurers & Employers

If you're an attorney, insurance adjuster, or employer outside Massachusetts who needs a defensible, evidence-based IME, you don't have to limit your search to your own state. We regularly work with out-of-state referral sources who value:

  • Expedited scheduling — often faster than sourcing a new local IME provider from scratch

  • Clear, defensible reports written for medical-legal and administrative review

  • One point of contact for cases that span multiple New England states

  • Experienced forensic neuropsychology, including TBI, dementia, stroke, and complex medical presentations

How Out-of-State Referrals Work

  • Contact us with the referral question, jurisdiction, and any relevant records.

  • We confirm coverage under PSYPACT for the client's state and scope out whether in-person testing (Dr. Wershba) or telehealth (Dr. Jacobson) is the right fit.

  • We schedule the evaluation — in our Westborough or Norwood offices, at an approved out-of-state location, or via telehealth.

  • You receive a clear, detailed report addressing diagnostic impressions, causality, prognosis, and functional abilities.
