Educational Services

Boston Metro Neuropsychology provides consultation services directly to schools for IEP evaluations. Our clinicians are school psychologists, clinical psychologists, and academic testers.  We complete psychological, cognitive and academic evaluations for students K-12 and beyond, as well as neuropsychological testing. We can provide services as-needed or for extended contracts.  Please contact us for rates and availability.

Dr. Alan Jacobson is Boston Metro Neuropsychology's Principal Clinical Psychologist. He received his BA from Tufts University, an MBA at University of Massachusetts, and his Doctorate in Psychology at University of Hartford. For over 20 years Dr. Jacobson has provided outpatient therapy and psychological evaluations for adults and families.   Dr. Jacobson has a subspecialty in psychological testing and has provided those services for five area school systems, three hospitals, and at several community-based locations.  He has also provided trainings and workshops on topics related to mental health, wellness, and treating special populations to a wide variety of hospitals, school systems, professional groups, and government agencies.  


Dr. Samantha Diaz earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at William James College in Newton, MA. She completed her internship at Behavioral Health Network, providing ongoing psychotherapy, psychological assessments, and IEP re-evaluations in English and Spanish both within a community mental health setting and the local school district. Her post-doctoral training at Boston University/Boston Medical Center focused on working with individuals across the lifespan in an integrated behavioral health (IBH) setting to provide short-term goal focused treatment and conducting clinical interviews and screeners for children with a suspected diagnosis of Autism. Her training includes assessment of individuals across the lifespan presenting with varied referral concerns such as ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, personality disorders, and cognitive delays.

Carla Ricci has worked in schools for over 20 years. She obtained a BA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in Psychology and Education. After working as a classroom teacher for several years, she received an MA and CAGS in School Psychology from Tufts University. Carla has extensive experience conducting psychological evaluations to determine eligibility for IEPs and 504 Student Accommodation Plans. She has identified and developed interventions to support students based on their educational needs, including specific learning disorders, executive functioning weakness, and social-emotional development; she has also worked directly with students to provide individual and group counseling. In addition to her role as a school-based school psychologist, Carla was an assistant principal for several years. Carla spent time living in Ghana where she volunteered at a local school. She was also a guest lecturer at the College of Health and Well Being in Kintampo, Ghana where she presented on topics including the role of the school psychologist in the US, the trajectory of typical reading development, understanding and diagnosing dyslexia, and understanding attention disorders.

Sharon Grossman is a Licensed Educational Psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She received her M.Ed., C.A.G.S. in School Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and an M.Ed. in Expressive Therapies with a concentration in Art Therapy from Lesley College. She has most recently worked as a School Psychologist in the Wellesley Public Schools, from where she retired, and the Carlisle Public Schools and Timberlane (NH) Regional School District, as well as a School Psychologist/TEAM Chairperson in the Stoneham Public Schools. As a school-based School Psychologist, Ms. Grossman has deep experience in special education eligibility and comprehensive school-based assessment practices, individual and group counseling, consultation and collaboration, and provision of a range of social emotional skills training. She has also developed interests in growth mindset and the use of mindfulness as Tier 1 school-wide interventions and with individuals and groups. Sharon also teaches a practicum seminar at William James College and facilitates Licensed Educational Psychologist seminar groups at William James College and Tufts University. 

Ana Bonin has worked in public schools for over 30 years, recently retiring from Boston Public Schools. She obtained her BA from Curry College in Psychology and Education and went on to receive her M.Ed and CAGS at University of Massachusetts, Boston. In her role as a school psychologist, she worked primarily at the elementary level, but also held the role of evaluating early childhood in the district. While working at various schools, she provided comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, supported students in individual and group school-based counseling, and worked collaboratively with school teams to implement school-wide MTSS interventions. Ana is a native Portuguese-speaker, and conducted bilingual evaluations in her district for Portuguese-speaking students. She continues to work with numerous districts providing psychological evaluations to determine Special Education eligibility for bilingual students.
